PH365 Baccarat Road: Reading the Scoreboards Without Believing Them

A baccarat road is a scoreboard of past results.

PH365 Blackjack Soft 17
A soft 17 is a blackjack hand totalling 17 that includes an ace counted as 11, such as ace plus six.
PH365 Punto Banco
Punto banco is the standard form of baccarat: two hands, Player (punto) and Banker (banco), are dealt by fixed rules, and you bet on which ends closer to 9, or on a tie.
PH365 Single Zero Roulette
Single zero roulette uses a wheel of 37 pockets: 1 to 36 plus one green 0.
PH365 Stream Latency
Stream latency is the delay between what happens at a live table and what you see.

Baccarat roads do not tell you what comes next. A baccarat road is a scoreboard of results already dealt, and reading it well means knowing exactly that. This page belongs to the live dealer stream overview, and it explains the five roads Evolution’s own live baccarat page lists, how each one is drawn, and why no pattern in them changes the next hand.

The five roads Evolution lists

Evolution’s page says the Bead Road and Big Road display the results of each past round, while the Big Eye Road, Small Road and Cockroach Road display patterns derived from the Big Road.

Reading the Bead Road and the Big Road

  1. Bead Road: each cell is one hand, coloured for Banker, Player or Tie, filled down and then across.
  2. Big Road: a new column starts each time the winner changes; a run of five Banker wins fills five cells down one column.
  3. Ties: usually marked on the previous cell rather than given a column of their own.

Read together, the two boards answer one question quickly: what has this shoe done so far?

A long Banker column invites the thought that Player is “due”, or that the run will continue. Both are the gambler’s fallacy. The next hand is decided by the cards left in the shoe under fixed drawing rules, so a column of six Banker wins tells you about six hands that are finished.

BeliefWhat actually decides the next hand
“Banker is on a streak, follow it.”the next cards and the third-card rules
“Player is due after six Bankers.”the same cards and rules
“The derived roads show the real trend.”they are drawn from the Big Road, which is history

The house edge stays where it was: 1.06% on Banker and 1.24% on Player for eight decks on the Wizard of Odds figures, whatever the board shows.

Using the roads sensibly

The roads are useful for one thing: knowing where a shoe stands before you join a table mid-way. A Bead Road with 40 cells filled tells you 40 hands are gone from the shoe, and that is real information about how long the shoe has left. Evolution’s page also mentions a multi-table overview that shows each table’s road; treat any of them like a match report, not a tip sheet. If you prefer a game whose maths you can work out on paper, the single zero roulette working and the blackjack soft 17 rule are both laid out with arithmetic.

FAQ

What is a baccarat road?

A scoreboard on the table screen that records past results. The Bead Road and Big Road show each round; the derived roads show patterns built from the Big Road.

Can baccarat trends predict the next hand?

No. The next hand depends on the cards left in the shoe and the fixed drawing rules, not on the pattern of earlier results.

Why do live tables show roads at all?

Players like to follow history, and the boards make a table's past easy to scan. They are a record, not a forecast.
